Quantya electric motorbikes in the Eco Enduro 2009 race held in Denmark. The video shows just how capable the Quantya bike really is and how easily it handles the terrain.
The EcoEnduro race is receiving some great press and interest. The official press release from the FIM says:
“This is a historic moment and you have all opened a new page in the history of motorcycling,” said Anders Minken, member of the FIM Alternative Energy Working Group at the gala dinner.
Indeed, after three days of intensive race on different types of soil, in the opinion of all present riders is that the electric bike is now the future of off-road disciplines.
Absence of pollution, noise, a light, agile and fun motorbike with enough power to amuse you while riding, that was the analyse of riders like as Joël Smet, five times motocross world champion, Fabien Planet, winner of the enduro race, Pal Ullevalseter or even Pedro Bianchi Prata, Paolo Gonçalves, Matteo Graziani, Annie Seel…
Despite a shock treatment, no mechanical case was to regret for the Quantya bikes nor the single Zero Motorcycle of Tommy Heimberg from Switzerland, who received a special ‘fair play’ prize for having the courage to come to fight alone with an American motorcycle against a great… Swiss motorcycle!
“I trusted this project to Quantya” entrusts Ivan Reedtz-Thott “and the international riders who have agreed to meet the challenge have confirmed me that I was right. They did the rest by showing the world that we could adapt to climate problems without abandoning our passion and satisfaction!”
Today, riders have rolled of Super Bike special in Svanemøllens Kaserne, not far from Copenhagen´s downtown. Stefan Olsen won this last day, before Joël Smet and Mikkel Caprani.
All actors in this extraordinary event felt a great relief after the race: the motorcycle has yet beautiful days before it… with an electric engine!
Another video from Spain showing off the Quantya on one of their dirt bike tracks. The bike looks fast and handles well. It has no problem with the big climbs.
We are seeing QuantyaParx spread all over the place and very soon they will begin to pop up in the UK. If you want more information about starting a Quantya Park please visit our QuantyaParx website.
This video features the centre in Barcelona. As you can see it looks like a wicked track. It is right near a road too so people riding around are actually doing half of the advertising too!
The Spanish based team entered a Quantya into a 24 hour enduro race near Barcelona. The race teams included only 1 bike, and 4 riders. The aim was to do as many laps of the track in the 24 hour period. The Quantya team placed 27 out of the 41 teams who finished the race.
The Quantya Track was a custom bike modified to allow for quick and easy battery swaps which are normally not possible with the Quantya bikes.
See the video below to see the Quantya Track in action amongst all the other combustion engine bikes.
Quantya Strada 48V + kit brakes + kit wheels + kit triple clamps & fatbar + seat frame aluminium + booster kit (add more turns to the motor). The bike hits 111kmph, which is roughly 68mph.
