Our first ride on a Quantya

Martin and Sam of Envy Motors on Fulham road drove to our HQ near Gloucester bringing with us their Quantya Evo 1 – Strada. This is the road legal version. We have heard so much about this bike, read reports, watched videos and stared at pictures. Finally we get to see one in the flesh. There are currently only 1 Strada and 1 Track in the UK.

First impressions are everything. You are not meant to judge a book by its cover but we all do. The Quantya stands up to our scrutiny well. Everything on it is top notch. So far it has only been ridden up and down the Fulham Road so it is time to put it in a more natural environment – a field. The bike is impressive. The power is certainly there and it has no problem tearing up the grass. It is hard to believe this bike is electric, but it is. Up the 30mph the bike accelerates fast. As fast as a 250cc bike. After 30mph the speed is limited in order to improve battery life.

The only noise is that created by the chain and other moving parts. This is the big difference from normal moto x bikes. Most of the legal issues around dirt bikes stem from the amount of noise they make. The Quantya Evo 1 is a really easy bike to ride. Even those who have never ridden a motorbike before will get on easily as there is no clutch or gears, just a simple stop and go throttle.

We loved the Quantya and are positive anyone who tries one will love it too.
