We had a busy time at the NEC Bike Show earlier this month. We are still busy following up and catching up however I just had to post this photo up of superbike racer Carlos Checa who popped by our stand to look at the bike and have a chat.

The World’s first ever Eco Enduro race took place last week in Copenhagen – conveniently at the same time as the United Nations Climate Change Conference. The entrants all raced using Quantya or Zero electric motorbikes. There were various categories. Luckily one of the racing days was also one of the days off from the conference allowing many of the delegates to go and watch the race.
The FIM Ride Green Eco Enduro achieved tremendous international attention with top officials from the United Nations using their day off from the UN Climate Change Conference, COP15, to watch zero-polluting, noise-free motorcycle races.
The event, which consisted of a total of nine forest stages and a separate super-final, was attended by a number of international star names, including the five-time motocross world champion Joël Smets from Belgium.
But for Smets it was difficult to cope with not only forest-winner Fabien Planet, but also the Dutchman Advocaat Amel who finished second and third placed Dane Kasper Lynggaard.
Smets had to be satisfied with a fourth, one point behind Lynggaard, who lost the chain on his electrical Quantya motorcycle on one of the stages and therefore didn’t feature in the overall standing.

Illegal motocross use in national forests in the Netherlands has been a problem for years. It is very hard to police too. To combat it, the Dutch Police have just ordered two Quantya electric dirt bikes. The ability to move quickly and silently will enable the Dutch police to chase down bikes riding illegally.
We have had loads of interest in the Quantya electric motorcycle over the last few days at the NEC Bike show. We have spoken to hundreds of members of the public, press and a bunch of you have had the chance to test the bikes on the track.
