See Quantya at the GLA Building

See Quantya at the GLA BuildingOn the 20th of June 2011 Quantya UK will be attending the launch of the e-Motor Cycle Industry Association. This will be held at the GLA Building in London. There will be bikes on display outside the building whilst this event takes place.

More about the eMCIA.

The Motorcycle Industry Association (www.mcia.co.uk) is establishing the eMCI to represent the specific needs of those with an interest in accelerating the adoption of electric and alternative Powered Two Wheelers (PTW’s) in the UK.

Driven by enthusiasm for greener, low emission transport alternatives, the sector is expanding rapidly. However, barriers to market exist in new product development, infrastructure, marketing, distribution and legislation that must be overcome in order for the sector to flourish. Although the market is in its infancy, it is vitally important that Alternative PTW’s are included in Transport Policy planning now.

With fragmented and limited communication and a diversity of opinion amongst key players concerning future development, the eMCI’s aim is to fully exploit the enormous potential to deliver an Ultra Low Carbon transport solution by harmonising and focusing the sector, protecting, promoting and expanding the market with one single and strong industry voice.

Quantya Electric Bike tries Moto Gymkhana

A few weeks ago Quantya UK Sales Manager Rob had a go at Moto Gymkhana.

Moto Gymkhana is a motorcycle riding event set on an enclosed obstacle-laden track, usually a car park or similar tarmac area. The participants take turns following a defined route around a number of obstacles with the aim of completing the course in the quickest time possible. Moto-Gymkhana is designed to offer the greatest riding challenge at the least possible risk. Riders enter events as individuals and as there is no restriction on the type or capacity of motorcycle used, it’s really easy to get started

After having ridden the bike, the Moto Gymkhana staff think that this type of bike might be ideally suited to Moto Gymkhana as it can compete on equal terms with petrol engined bikes.

Quantya Electric Motorbikes at the Red Marley Hill Climb 2011

Here is a small edit we put together of our day at the Red Marley Hill Climb. For the first time ever there was an electric bikes class which served as a great way of demonstrating the bikes and giving the motorbike enthusiasts a glimpse into what the future may be like. It was a great day and raised lots of money for Help for Heroes – which is a great cause.

Here are a couple of other videos we found on Youtube.
