QUANTYA SA was set up in 2005 in order to develop and produce Swiss Quality high performance electric motorcycles and scooters to meet the recreational and transportation needs of today’s environmentally conscious individuals.
Quantya was the brainchild of Max Modena, a motocross enthusiast living in Switzerland. When the Swiss banned the use of noisy two-stroke engines which power most motocross bikes he saw an opportunity. The bikes were to be nothing like existing slow and boring electric motorbikes available at the time. These had to be fun, fast and quiet. Work commenced.
In 2007 Quantya obtained the international TUV certification for a street legal bike version in Europe. In addition to the TUV certificate, Quantya obtained the VCA (Vehicle Certification Agency) certificate as a constructor and assembler of motor vehicles. The first range of bikes appeared on the market in mid 2007. Since then a road legal version has been brought out.
QuantyaParx have become popular first in Germany, then Austria and now around Europe. The first UK Quantyaparx will open in 2010.
In 2010 new models were released: The Squter P1, a scooter; The MMX, a junior dirt bike; and the QuantyaParx Edition of the Evo1 Track. This growth in the range shows a strong commitment to electric motorcycles and an improvement in technology.
