Electrifying eco motorcycle experience

Forget noise and pollution – eco power is all the rage, and is starting in The Mall

British entrepreneurs are going electric – and the leisure scene is changing thanks to the vision of a few dedicated enthusiasts and royal support for the Start Eco-Car Spectacular.

Quantya – high performance electric motorbikes with British made LMC motors, will be on show in the Mall on Sunday 12th September with directors from Trailworld’s leisure activity centre in Hertfordshire now offering hours of exciting, quiet and environmentally-friendly experience days on green lanes, with electro-trekking trails and mini motocross tracks.

Reaching speeds of 45mph in under 2 seconds, comparable with 125cc petrol engines, Quantya bikes are pollution-free and virtually silent. They run for up to two hours, and can recharge in under 2 hours for only 50 pence.

Ian Mitchell-Innes of Quantya UK distributors introduced QuantyaParx franchises to the UK and Trailworld is the first with many more in the pipeline. He sees it as a “unique business proposition” for landowners and leisure operators.

“The combination of high-speed thrills, simple engineering and green credentials makes these electric bikes an attractive prospect for riders and potential franchisees,” he says “They are very low maintenance, use no oil, and no previous experience is required to ride. What’s more, they are completely green and virtually silent, so land use and noise issues traditionally experienced by operators of outdoor leisure attractions are a thing of the past – provided you have reasonable access of course!”

Launched briefly last year at the NEC Bike Show and this year at the CLA Game Fair at Ragley Hall, it is now possible to ride Quantya bikes all the year round for £60 per hour in fields, tracks, and hills at Trailworld’s eco motorsports centre in Hertfordshire, including instruction and protective clothing.

Quantyaparx eco centres require just a few acres. A fleet of 6-12 bikes can expect to generate over £20,000 p.a. each from regular hourly bookings. Extensive European experience over the last 5 years has proved these Swiss bikes with their British motors really do last and perform exceptionally well despite the rigours of fleet hire and private use on and off road.

Quantya UK is based in Gloucestershire and the bikes are also available from Solstis Bikes in London for eco commuters, as well as from Trailworld. They will be ridden by celebrities in The Mall this Sunday 12th September at the Start Eco-Car Spectacular by kind permission of HRH The Prince of Wales, organised by Roger Saul and Kevin McCloud in aid of The Princes Charities and Bottletop.
