Quantya for scramble tracks

We have all seen and heard a lot about how noisy scramble bikes are. It is the main objection to them. Not many people other than petrolheads enjoy the high pitched screetch the engines make. Environmentalists do not agree with the burning of our limited supply of fuel for recreational purposes either. The underlying fact that there are a lot of people who love dirt bikes is ever present, but good luck to anyone who tries to get planning permission for a scramble track.

Enter the Quantya. A full on scramble bike. It looks like a scramble bike, it performs like a scramble bike but it does not sound like a scramble bike. Perhaps this could be the saving grace for the existing scramble tracks around the UK which are no longer operating.

Whilst at this point the Quantya does not have the max speed of most scramble bikes, it does have the acceleration. A tight and technical track where the riders never have to get over 35mph would see the Quantya on level pegging. Perhaps it is time to pitt it against petrol bikes.

Hans Eder who has been working with Quantya in Germany and Austria hopes to open a large number of tracks over the next few years. These countries have seen a decline in the number of courses over recent years due to various laws and regulations much like the UK. This could be a big move in the UK scene and kick start some growth.
